Q: I am looking at buying a new Audi A3 already have the old shape TDI.. Have noticed the FSI is cheaper than a TDI. Why? And which one would you go for.

A: Diesel engined cars are always more expensive than petrol versions. The most popular engine choice in A3 is the diesel version, and in particular the 170 PS one launched in 2006. The bulk of A3 sales will be diesel. I am taking delivery on the 14.5.2008 of a new A3 2.0TDI, and its because the engine is fantastic-powerful yet with good fuel economy.
