Q: Its a 1.4 a2 petrol engine.Last night i drove it & it was revving on its own when i changed gear & at junctions at one point it was revving right into the red line! Soon as i changed gear it stopped. Yet today i take it to the garage & its fine its not doing it at all? The machanic said to ring audi garage & ask if they have had any probs like this in past & if so ask what part needed changing. I was just wondering if anyone here has had the same problem? or any audi technitions that could help? Thanks in advance. Hope someone knows!!
A: I know what you mean. Is this a Diesel or petrol car? Check for any air leak into the engine intake system,excess air could cause the system to malfunction. Let the garage hook a scantool to it and read any stored fault codes to give a guide. Goodluck
