Q: Hey, i have two options really, 30mm or 50mm. I understand the differences which will be made by lowering the car. I would just like to know that by lowering 50mm, will this prevent me from normal road use such as speed bumps and stuff. Or would my bumpers and exhaust still have enough clearence. Im more looking for the visual change than the handling change. thanks.
A: You should be aware that a common problem on any alfa with the twin spark engine fitted is that the alloy engine sump is easily damaged on speed bumps , kerbs , etc ... It already rests low on the car and if you lower the car any more the problem will just get worse , if you must you should probably go with the 30mm and remember to be careful while driving . p.s. front bumpers are prone to damage as well , next time you see an alfa take a look and i guarantee it will show scrape marks on the bottom of the front bumper . good luck !
