Acura TSX VS. Acura TL?

Q: wat do u think?...and why?

A: Only you can answer that...based upon what you're looking for. Both are great cars, but they're sufficiently different cars. Here's some of their distinctives: TSX: - smaller than TL ~ 3,200 lbs - DOHC 4 cylinder engine...adequate power (~ 205 hp), but light in the torque area...nowhere near as lively a throttle response as the TL's. - perhaps best build quality among Honda/Acura sedans ever...the car is basically a European Accord, spruced-up to Acura upscale standards - best handling FWD sedan Honda/Acura ever developed...corners very nicely...trumps handling of its closest competitor, the Lexus IS250. - nice complement of amenities for the dollar...~ $4+ grand less than the TL - perhaps slightly, but only slighty better fuel economy than the TL. TL: - two versions, the 'base model' (3.2L SOHC V6, 258 hp), and the 'type s' (3.5L SOHC V6, 286 hp [has the RL's drivetrain]), with Acura's A-Spec handling upgrade kit [tires, wheels, etc.], small cosmetic mods, and a backup camera)...otherwise both cars are the same - lots more torque than the TSX...the base auto trans TL is capable of 0-60 in 6.4 sec., the base MT version will run 5.9 sec., the 'type s' AT will run ~ 6 sec., and the 'type s' MT will run 5.5 sec. By comparison, a bone stock MT TSX will get you into the mid 7 second range, and a TSX AT will run 0-60 in the 8 sec. range - actually handles quite well, laterally, stability, and braking! - superb design & engineering...very attractive both inside & out...great erognomics, cabin layout is really nice! - very reliable - fantastic dollar value for all you get... - larger interior space than TSX - base & type s models will get you from ~ high teens around town to up to honest 32 mpg on open highways. I drive an '06 AT model & get 32 mpg on long trips. Also, Acura just released a new & refreshed TSX, and will release a new TL later this year...you may wish to delay your decision until the new TL comes out. It's supposed to be offered in both FWD & w. Honda's Super Handling All Wheel Drive, as well as with more horsepower.
