Q: ive heard it is better to go with ceramic headers over something like stainless steel or chrome ? does anyone know if this is a true statement? i guess the ceramic ones are supposed to hold in the heat better?

A: Those that come ceramic coated like DC and such will rust and crack. It may be true that they hold heat better but as the car moves, the heat also moves. Hence, it wont matter too much. Stainless steel doesn't hold in heat but does give that nice bronze shine when heated. I believe a header used for a daily driving shouldn't hold in heat as that will cause cracking by the welds and shorten its' lifetime. It's also resistant to rust. If you really want to hold in heat, use header wrap. They'll work a lot better than a ceramic coat.
