Q: which car would you get? My parents are getting the TL, but I think it kind of looks like an old mans car, is it just me?

A: if your parents can afford either car, i would call you spoiled and envy their offspring, people like you. but, regarding these two cars, i would have to say that its more of a personal preference. both are very important models to Acura because they sell well and are keeping its image up. each has its own virtues and qualities that differentiate them from one another. though i have to say when comparing the two, i cant help but keep my eye on the TL just because it is such a great value. the TL is a few thousand dollars more than the TSX (reasonably spaced price range), and it is worth every penny. it has slightly larger dimensions than the TSX, comes in a more powerful (like the base engine of 258 hp isnt enough?) Type-S version producing 286 hp as an option, and more standard equipment along with the amazing 3.2-liter VTEC V6 (test drive one and youll know what i mean). considering this, it doesnt do justice that it gets the same fuel economy as the 4-banger TSX (23 MPG overall for both), so you should take advantage of this. the TL is much, MUCH faster off-the-line from 0-60 mph than the slow TSX, and stops a lot quicker from 60-0, too (about 6 feet shorter). your parents may be making the right choice so leave them be. i personally think a comparable Lexus ES/Toyota Camry "comfort-cruiser" sedan looks to be more befitting for old men; all Acuras are known for being sportier drives, as it is with Honda. maybe more so with Nissan/Infiniti (shrug)? good luck to your parents.
