The hand brake on my 2002 Acura RSX does not hold on hills. Is this common - any solutions?

Q:

A: its probably not that common maybe just worn out pads and rotors is what is wrong. there are three fixes you can pull the hand brake harder but you might risk snapping the line and losing your hand brake all to gether or you can change out your brakes and rotors( rear ones) and that should bring you back to a decent holding on the hand brake. if not that, then you can just put your gear in 1st gear when you park it helps to hold the car from rolling along with using the hand brake
