Q: hey i am looking at to buy an 1996 acura slx with 80,000 miles on it .. my question does anybody have any ideas if this cars are good and realible? i had a 1994 legend and i loved it , it was real realible so i am hoping this car is to?
A: Watch out! The Acura SLX is not a Honda product. The SLX is a rebadged Isuzu Trooper. The Trooper and SLX both had slumping sales after it was revealed it had a greater chance of roll-over than other SUVs in its class. In part it was because Consumer Reports exaggerated its claims (much like how 60 Minutes did with 'unintended acceleration' which is false), but it does have its roots in fact. Remember, it is an Isuzu by heart. If you want a safe, reliable, luxurious, attractive, and powerful Acura SUV, go for an MDX if possible. That is a true Honda/Acura product from the ground up.
