1990 Acura Integra Idling High?

Q: If I don't start my car for a few hours at a time, such as at night then start it in the morning, it will idle at anywhere between 1200-1700 RPMs. If I just sit there in it and let it run for awhile, it'll gradually decrease. Anytime I start it after that, no matter how many times all day long, it'll be fine and idle at 500-700RPMs. Why is this? Is this bad? What can I do to fix it? Thanks alot for your help.

A: 1700RPM is to high for cold idle but you car is old so it needs to be adjust form time to time. mine sits at 550RPM you can adjust it yourself though http://www.team-integra.net/sections/articles/showArticle.asp?ArticleID=195. itll pretty much be the same for your engine though
