Q: Does the radio sound okay w/o the tech package or does it sound cheap? Thanks
A: I have the 2007 base MDX, and the audio quality is ok. The sound system is made by Panasonic, so its not the best. The difference between the base and tech pkg is that the tech pkg adds on 2 satellite speakers. It won't make much of a difference. I personally like good sound, and this will need some work. Compared to other stereos, it sounds good, getting good highs and lows. The volume doesnt get too high, but it sounds clear when cranked up, so thats a plus. Anyone would say it sounds good, and it already has a subwoofer, so it feels more complete. Once again, its not a bad system, but I just got used to the Harman/Kardon stereo system in my BMW and the $3,000 Alpine system in my VW.
