Q: i will get both done (of course)-just wondering which i really should do first. the brakes grind every now and then-and i'm nervous when i drive because some days i see slight smoking coming off the hood (even though the car doesn't show signs of overheating on the dash board). what to do? oh and they're talking $1000 for both to be done (roughly $500 for each)
A: if you can do the work.. or have someone do it for you like a friend you can have it fixed for less than a few hundred. if it really needs a radiator they can be found cheap and they are easy to replace. i think you have 4wheels disc right? pads and rotors are super easy to replace, less than an hour for all 4. i'd find the leak and make sure its your radiator.. who told you it was the radiator? it could be just a leak in a hose..
