Q: Hi, I have a 2001 Acura 3.5 RL. I had asked a previous question about the largest safe rim size that I can fit, I got 20" max, but for performance, 17"-18". I hear the larger the rims, performance starts to suffer so my question is: 1.) Could someone explain specifically how larger rims could reduce your cars performance? 2.) Are 18" good for my car? I kinda need the performance so will I still have my performance with 18" rims? Thanks!

A: Yes, 17-18 is best. 2. The Acura is a bigger car so 18inch is perfect. For smaller cars like an Acura TSX, 17 inch would be good. 1. Larger rims are heavier and they put more strain on the tires and messes up the traction that the tires give when accelerating or turning at high speeds.
