2009 Acura TSX?

Q: any thoughts about the tsx getting the Honda's i-DTEC clean diesel engine? http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/21/acura-tsx-gets-diesel-power-next-year/ Actually it is coming out next year. only in the TSX. Well, it now appears that the 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which will be fifty-state-legal without the use of an aqueous urea-based solution to convert poisonous nitrogen oxides into less troubling nitrogen and water, is set to debut first in the next generation of the European-market Honda Accord and shortly thereafter in the Stateside version of the car, the 2009 Acura TSX (current model pictured above right). Honda's not revealing horsepower, torque, or fuel economy figures yet, but we'll keep you posted.

A: I think these new clean diesel engines are great alternatives to hybrids. The 2009 Accord is getting the same engine and supposedly it will get 52 MPG highway. I believe the Accord's HP will be at least 150, the TSX will obviously have a bit more. All the diesels will cost a bit more to buy, but I'm guessing the saving you will have from not filling up so much will erase that. I'd consider buying a diesel, but diesel stations are not that prevalent by me.
