A: I own an '06 TL AT, with 18K miles on it...I'm the original owner. I like the car very much, having bought it after evaluating the various competition available. So far the car's been great w/o any problems. I've added several performance modifications: - Comptech (CT Engieering) performance rear sway bar - AEM, cold air intake (~ 10 - 12 hp gains) - Outlaw Engineering, thermoblock (phonelic) head insulation gaskets (between throttle body-plenum, and between plenum & top of head; ~ 8 hp gains) - Greddy, EVO2, stage 3 exhaust system (elimiates mid muffler & resonator, uses SS flow through mufflers, and upsizes exhaust piping from. 2.25" to 2.5" dia for 12 hp gains); sounds awesome - Denso Iridium plugs - Sun Automotive, hyper ground wire kit The car handles even better with the upsized sway bar, and delivers power similar to the Type S AT(0-60 in ~ 6 sec.). The biggest complaints one hears about TLs are related to the FWD design, specific to 1. torque steer, and 2. understeer (ie, chassis setup issue). Torque steer is only noticable if you power hard through a corner...VSA (if engaged) will keep the car out of trouble. Also, the car is incredibly balanced, and actually outcorners a good many RWD designs (especially with the performance sway bar). The chassis setup is superb for an entry level sport sedan. Yes, performance purists might prefer more feedback from the tires to the steering wheel, but the car tracks quite well as is, and I find the suspension to be tweaked about right...not too harsh, not too soft. The quality of the interior & overall design is outstanding, also love the layout & the sond system...IMO it's a great dollar value. I could go on. Summary: I would buy this car all over again in a flash. BTW, our family also drives an '00 Accord V6, the Accord sharing various similarities w. the TL (coming off the same Ohio assembly line). Our Accord has 96K miles & has been almost flawless, a prime reason why we selected the TL. Unless you crave BMW level handling, and are willing to the premium of ownership & of maintenance for such a car, the TL remains a worthy choice sure to satisfy a great many drivers.
